Words Over The Water meets every month Sept-June. We read contemporary poetry brought by participants or a facilitator. Poems are by published authors from the past 80 years, though we occasionally read our own poetry or bring themed work from other eras.
Members come from many perspectives. All of us read or listen to poetry. Some of us write, some are new to poetry, many have had a quiet passion or curiosity about poetry for years. A few are mystified. But always, we show up.
New members are always welcome – send your email to wordsoverthewater@talktalk.net or postal address to Bebington Central Library to receive news and poems.
Words Over The Water is not currently funded by any agency. We decided to continue on a voluntary basis after receiving start-up funding from Liverpool DGPS from 2006 to 2008. Now that this site is up and running, we might evolve into something bigger and would consider funding in the future. Many thanks to Bebington Central Library staff for providing the meeting room and refreshments.
